The book comprises three sections, the first section deals with the importance of horticulture and second section deals with the theoretical aspects of plant breeding and third part deal with the scope of research methodology in science. The section Horticulture comprises four chapters, it nourishes the areas such as introduction to horticulture, plant propagation methods, garden and flower arrangement techniques. The second section Plant Breeding contains the subareas such as introduction, methods of plant breeding both conventional and modern methods, lastly the breeding of some important crops such as rice, wheat, potato and coconut with special reference to Indian contribution. The third part of this text book deals with Research Methodology, it covers the areas such as what is research, types of research, experimentation, research proposal and research design.
