When Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan founded Mohammado-Anglo Oriental CollegeMAO College was established in 1875 (which rose to become AMU in 1920), it was described by scholars as the first modernist organization in the entire Islamic World, as it led to Muslim renaissance in the Indian subcontinent. This child of the Aligarh Movement, led by Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan, was designed on the Oxbridge Model. It was expected to become the
