The book is divided into six organically inter-connected chapters. The first chapter introduces Haryana of the 19th Century to the reader. Chapters two, three and four are chronological narratives covering timeframe differentiated by fundamental changes in the politico-administrative arrangements. Internally each chapter records important strands from the thematic core. Last two chapters record hitherto-fore ignored aspects of Haryana’s heritage, that is, military legacy and architecture.
