In all 669 species of birds that have been recorded in Himachal Pradesh, 317 species are of Non=passerine nature, covered in Voll land 352 species of birds covered in this section, Vol-ll, are Passerine. In addition almost 50 more species are expected to occur in future of which 27 are listed as Non-passerine and 22 are of Passerine nature barring few accidental species. 5 Critically endangered species, 7 endangered species and 13 Vulnerable species of birds are recorded in the State of Himachal Pradersh which are also separately listed in Vol-ll. There are 71 Passage Migrant species mainly in Spring & Autumn season of which Curlew Sandpiper, Dunlin, Brown Shrinke are also recorded sometimes in winter, Merlin and Isabelline Shrike may also be wintering. 49 Species of birds have been recorded visiting in summer season as Summer Migrants and in winter 112 bird species are visiting in various habitats of Himachal Pradesh and are listed as Winter Visiting Birds. Of 669 Species of birds that are covered in Vol-l and Vol-ll, we need further evidence for 18 bird species which are also listed as doubtful species at the end of Vol-ll.
