About the Author Dr. Shridhar Andhare (1933-2018) obtained PhD. from Bombay University, having graduated from Nagpur University in 1956 and having passed the G.D. Art (Ptg.) Examination from Sir J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai, in 1960. He served at the Prince of Wales Museum (now CSMVS) Mumbai, from 1961 to 1983. He also specialized in restoration of oil paintings. He served as Director of L.D. Museum, Ahmedabad from 1983 to 2003. He had participated in many National and International seminars. He had published 10 books and 40 research papers including on Mewar Paintings and Jain Vastrapata paintings. Prof. Ratan Parimoo (b. 1936) is a painter and art historian. He holds a Ph.D. from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where he taught for 34 years, serving as Head of the Department of Art History and Aesthetics (1966-91) and as Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the same University for 6 years (1975 -1982).
