About the Author COMMANDER HIMADRI DAS is a serving officer of the Indian Navy. He was commissioned on 01 July 1994 and is presently posted at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Navy), New Delhi. He is a Navigation and Direction (ND) specialist and has held related instructional appointments. He has also been closely associated with the doctrinal development programme of the Indian Navy across the strategic, operational and tactical levels, on a range of subjects. He holds post graduate degrees in Nautical Sciences and Tactical Operations, and in International Relations. He is an M Phil in Defence and Strategic Studies, and is presently pursuing a PhD in maritime security.
