About the Book

Millions of students struggle in school daily, because of serious learning problems. The causes are often unknown, specific problems can be difficult to pinpoint and the long-term effects hard to predict. The tension between demands or academic success and stubborn reality of a problem, make learning difficulties one of the most contentious topics in an increasingly competitive and educated society. A large number of educationists have been struggling for the recognition of fact that each child may have his/her own pace and learning requirements and forcing them. All into a single straitjacket is largely responsible for children dropping out of education altogether. This is always became a question in front of parents, teachers and researchers. A humble attempt was done by the authors in this direction and this book is the result of that attempt. The book titled “Cognitive Operations and Learning Disabilities” has been written to be used as a research reference or as a referral text in Environmental and Neuro Psychological perspectives of LD. The research problem of the study was Temperament, character and Executive functions among students with Learning Disability and without Ld. The study was a Neuro Psychological study, which is a unique one among the target group. Since the book is based on the research work, it clarifies a number of ideas closely related to temperament, character and executive functions of students with Learning Disabilities. It is hoped that the book will be helpful and will serve as a useful resource for all stake holders. Since, this endeavour is a continues process, we would appreciate receiving feedback from the readers for further improvement.
