This book is a document of the proceedings of a webinar held on the World Dance Day, April 29, 2022, after the lockdown due to COVID, organized by World Dance Alliance Asia-Pacific, Dance Alliance India, School of Women’s Studies, Jadavpur University, Arts Forward and Sruti Performing Troupe. The title is conceived by Prof. Urmimala Sarkar Munshi. In the pandemic stricken world, dance has faced several challenges in presentation. It adapted to extraordinary criteria that could never have been thought of earlier. While artists have suffered throughout the pandemic, alternative approaches of dance have evolved and so the idea of celebrating World Dance Day took a turn too. In the light of this transformed way of looking at dance and dance presentation and its subsidiary features, this emerging scholar’s webinar was conceived to put in a nutshell this altered dynamics of performing arts.
