The Cult of mother goddess is as old as human civilization. It flourished in many parts of the ancient world including India where it had a dominating presence. Ancient rites, customs, symbols, imagery point at the belief that woman per se possess magical and occult powers. Just by the dint of being a woman she can elicit desired response from nature. Stripped of her cloths if she, in nude, ploughs the field dark clouds gather in the sky and rain starts pouring, drenching the parched earth.
