About the Book
Displacement and Diaspora: Text and Context in Literature aims to provide an academic exploration of the concepts of displacement and diaspora, which have historically been linked to the experiences of refugees impacted by conflicts and imperialistic endeavors. Nevertheless, our understanding of these notions is broadening, particularly in response to deteriorating environmental circumstances. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the conceptualization of displacement and Diaspora is undergoing a process of evolution. The primary objective of this literary work is to critically analyze the phenomenon of displacement and the concept of Diaspora via an interdisciplinary lens. Our research focuses on examining the underlying reasons of displacement, which can be ascribed to several variables like armed conflict, historical colonial practices, and environmental deterioration. Furthermore, our research aims to gather narratives from persons who are part of the Diaspora community. Our objective is to critically examine and redefine our comprehension of the concepts of Diaspora and displacement by doing research on diasporic literature, analyzing migration driven by environmental factors, and exploring the notion of digital Diaspora.
