Art work is an accumulated expession of thought process, skill, style and medium. So medium is very important for creation of art. In the field of Bengal Art, it is found that various mediums were used for creating valuable art that contributed in the development of history of Bengal Art. As far as the medium Oil Paint is concerned, it was invented by Jan Van Eyek of Netherland in 15th Century. Many remarkable paintings were created in Europe using the medium of Oil Paint. The medium of Oil Paint eventually came to India as well as Bengal and was adopted by Bengal artists, thus creating a new genre of Early Bengal Oil Paintings during 18th to 19th century. This unpublished history is discussed elaborately in this book
