Emancipative Education: Policies and Practices is a collection of papers presented at the 45th National Annual Research Seminar of the Association of Christian Philosophers of India (ACPI), held at Morning Star College, Barrackpore, West Bengal (from 14th to 16th October 2022). The book philosophically looks into the education system of the past, present and the future; its background, and foreground for an emancipative tomorrow. The papers are arranged in three parts: the archaeology of education, defragmenting education and emancipating for a new world. The First cluster of papers are foundational in nature, analytic in flavour and theoretical in perspectives. The second cluster analyses the education system from religious, subaltern, traditional, indigenous, etc., perspectives. The final cluster understands education as a tool of emancipation from different perspectives such as commercial, political, social, neurological, and virtual. The book, thus, is a handy tool for educationists, social scientists, reformers, researchers, policy makers and students. He has written a book titled, “Avibhaga-Bhedabheda in the Vijñanamrtabhasyam of Vijñanabhiksu,” and several scholarly articles in different journals and edited works. Specialized in Vedantic Philosophy, his areas of research and teaching include Epistemology, Hermeneutics, Darshana (Vedic and non-Vedic Systems), Bhagavadgita, Tribal Anthropology, and other Indological issues. He is the editor of Sevartham, the annual research journal published from St. Albert’s College, Ranchi, Jharkhand. He is also the Secretary for the Commission for VSCR (Vocations, Seminaries, Clergy and Religion) of JHAAN (Jharkhand-Andamans) Bishop’s Council. Presently, he is the Director of Philosophy at St. Albert’s College, Ranchi.
