There has been a gradual paradigm shift in the focus of the field of Interior Designing from “Home Decoration” to the designing of various components of Interior space on the basis of research so as to enhance the safety and comfort of the users and to have functionality as well as beauty of interior environments. It emphasizes on proper space management. Research is essential for these design projects to succeed. There can be research on design or research for design or it can be research through design. It is very important for the researchers to know the research questions gather appropriate information through literature and client survey, analyse, synthesize, evaluate, interpret and discuss the information gathered. Through applying one's knowledge, imagination and creativity the researcher does design thinking to answer the research question and does innovation in design solution.
