About the Author: Dr Aparna Pareek, MSc, PhD, FBS, UGC Research Awardee and Assistant Professor of Botany at Department of Botany, University of Rajasthan. Jaipur has a brilliant academic career. She is recipient of CL Batra Memorial Gold medal, Master Amir Chand Memorial Gold medal at BSc Examination and Gold medal and Certificate of Merit for Ist Position in M.Sc. Botany Examination. She has pursued her PhD research on the morphogenetic studies in ornamental species of Dianthus. She has eighteen years of teaching and research experience in the field of Plant Tissue Organ Protoplast culture and is presently working for the conservation of ethnomedicinal plants of Rajasthan that are facing the danger of extinction. She is also recipient of the prestigious APJ Abdul Kalam Award and Innovative Botanist Award for working in the field of Biodiversity conservation. She has more than 50 research papers and review articles in International and National journals of repute. She has actively participated in many National and International conferences, seminars, workshops and presented research papers. She has authored two books in the field of Plant Tissue Culture and Plant Morphology and Anatomy. She has been the Principal investigator of five research projects funded by the UGC, New Delhi and DST, Government of Rajasthan. She is Fellow Indian Botanical Society and Life Member of Indian Science Congress Association of India and various other academic bodies.
