China has territorial disputes with almost all its neighbours and during the past 75 years, has had serious military confrontations with many of them. Till recently China was militarily and economically, not strong enough to pursue her vision of the new World Order. In the past fifty years however, China has grown to become an economic power. Money is now available to fuel military spending; a strong PLA is in the making. China now seeks a position of predominance in the world. With this new found economic and military might, all of China s territorial claims, whether real or imagined, whether historical or of new found necessity, have begun to surface. China is pushing them forward aggressively. What does this mean to China s neighbours, especially to India? This book examines the operational capability of the Chinese Air Force, and the threat this capability poses to China s neighbours, and to India. The book traces the development of the People s Liberation Army Air Force into a striking arm. Chinese nuclear capability, exploitation of Tibet, the present aircraft inventory, the aircraft industry, the training methods and the operational capability are all analysed. The role Chinese intelligence agencies play, is examined. The author then goes on to discuss the threat and the strategies for India to counter this.
