The book Galaxy of the Indian Socialist Leaders is a valuable compilation of articles on some of the most significant leaders of the Indian Socialist Movement written with commendable incisiveness. In evaluating the contributions of some of the eminent Socialists, the author has avoided blind adulation on the one hand and personal vituperation on the other. In the present ethos of politics, such an objective approach is rare. However, it is heartening to note that the author had scrupulously maintained objectivity in his articles. The author's stress on authenticity and his searching eye for details is very much in evidence in various articles in the book. This book of collections of well researched articles will serve as a good study of the part of the contemporary history of freedom struggle and Socialist movement woven neatly around the lives of eminent Socialists.
