India was one of the first issuer of coins, as a result it has seen a wide range of currency units throughout its history. This book is an inspiring tale of how currency developed through the ages. The currency that we use today is a result of thousands of years of development, traditions, rise and fall of empires and development of science, to bring out currency in it’s present form. The country’s coinage and currency notes design reflects all these progressions. It is my obsession that every reader of this book will not be going through mere words, but these pages will prove revealing and informative enough to excite him.
