In the name of development, creation of employment and growth of the gross domestic product (GDP), the states; neoliberal economic policy has opened the economy for the corporate world. Large-scale industrialization and its allied activities have involuntarily displaced the poor, middle class, semiliterate indigenous people. By using the IRR model of Michael Carnea, leading World Bank consultants and a well-known social scientist, the present book assessed the impact of industrialisation on various segments such as farmers, animal rearers, agricultural labourers, fishermen, women, etc. It has occurred mainly due to the absence of proper' policy and developmental packages. The book also offers a few valuable policy suggestions. The book proved helpful to all those - academicians, policy-makers, administrators, bureaucrats, industrialists and activists -who are interested in sustainable development.
