This book gives and overview of the position of working women in India since ancient times till present times; specific professions in organized sector where women are employed. Further the conceptual and theoretical framework relating to women and crimes is put forth. The Book gives a glimpse of international scenario of working women in various regions of the world such as position of working women and their workforce participation in developed countries; western countries, Gulf countries and amongst regional organization group countries such as G-20; SAARC; OECD etc. The current picture of working women in India in organized as well as unorganized sector in various professions such as medical, nursing, legal, judiciary; teaching, sports, journalism, agriculture, brick kilns, domestic help etc. and discrimination at workplace and other types of crimes to which they are exposed to at workplace such as UDHR; ICCPR; ICESCR; ILO Conventions; CEDAW and domestic laws relating to working women are critically evaluated. The role of judiciary with respect to recognition of rights of working women and providing them appropriate relief by adopting activist approach is discussed in the light of various judgments.
