About the Book

The purpose of this book is to accumulate different studies on library management and services provided by library and information centres during this Covid-19 crisis. The book focuses on the most relevant issues of libraries regarding the effect of Covid-19. It intends to amass different studies on library management and services. Simultaneously, it throws light on various issues and challenges faced by the LIS professionals. The book also hints at some experimental solutions so that the related hindrances can be overcome. Alamgir Khan has been serving Chandidas Mahavidyalaya affiliated to the University of Burdwan in the capacity of Librarian since April 2010. He also served Bengal Institute of Technology & Management, Santiniketan, as a Librarian for more than eight years. He has obtained M. Com., M.LIB.I.Sc., P.G.D.C.A., LAD (IGNOU) and Ph.D. (LIS). His areas of interest is ICT in library operations. He has published more than thirty-five research articles in national & international journals and either presented or attended more than sixty seminars, webinars and workshops at National & International levels. He has also published seven book chapters in national & international levels. He has published one book & edited three books. He is life member of various professional bodies like BLA, WBCLA, IASLIC, LISPAB and WBCUPA. He has been awarded “Best Employee Award” from BITM, Santiniketan in the year 2009 for his hard work towards automation of the library management system. Dr. Khan has been also awarded “Indian Achiever Award 2021” from International Research Association, London, United Kingdom & “Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Life Time Achievement National Award” from IRDP Group of Journals, Chennai, India for contribution in academics & research. He is a young, dynamic and energetic professional with high ambition, task oriented, great leadership quality, promising future and is an asset for the institutions he is attached to. Dr. Shamim Aktar Munshi is currently working as a Librarian, Ananda Chandra College, Jalpaiguri-West Bengal-India. He has completed his Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the Department of Library and Information Science, Aligarh Muslim University, in 2019. Dr. Munshi has published more than fifteen research papers in various national and international (SAGE, Taylor and Francis, Walter De Gruyter GmbH, etc.) peer-reviewed journals, five papers in edited books and thirteen research papers in several national and international conference proceedings. His areas of interest include: Public library system, Information literacy, Social media, etc. Dr. Munshi has also received “P. V. Verghese Best Paper Award” from Indian Library Association, 2018 for his research paper on ‘Public Libraries of West Bengal’. He is a life member of Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC). He has presented a number of papers in various national and international conferences/seminars in India and abroad.
