Buddha is revered all over the globe as the foremost champion of democracy, social justice and inclusive development. The Mauryas had established the welfare state in India under the patronage of Buddha and Emperor Ashoka. Baba Saheb Ambedkar was greatly inspired by the Indian historical legacy which reveals the golden era of the empowerment of all sections of Indian society. Ambedkar laid strong foundation for the establishment of an egalitarian state in the post-independence era in India. He had strongly advocated for the annihilation of caste which is the foundation of social, economic and political marginalization of the weaker sections of society. Indian society is dominated by the Brahminical forces while Indian economy is controlled by the market forces. These forces are primarily responsible for the marginalization of weaker sections of society.
