Government of India paved the way for transformative reform in education system by launching the New National Education Policy (NEP) on 29th July 2020 that aims to address the many growing developmental imperatives and proposes the revision and revamping of all aspects of the education structure to create a new system that is aligned with the aspirational goals of 21-century education while remaining consistent with India's traditions and value system. The present publication consists of 24 (twenty four) numbers of research articles contributed by library practitioners, educators and researchers in line with NEP 2020 to make it 21st century LIS education and services in the changing information scenario and job market. LIS education with multiple entry and exit, inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary nature of LIS education, libraries to create a virtual leaning environment are going to be major challenges for LIS educators and practitioners. The articles contributed by practicing librarians, educators and researchers are rich content and quiet beneficial to maintain the vision of NEP 2020 and future career of LIS students, professionals and researchers About the Author: Prof. Pravakar Rath is a well-known educator and researcher in the field of library and information science for more than 29 years out of which 18 years as Professor. Prof. Rath received IASLIC Best Teacher Award in 2013, Ambassador for Peace (2014) by Universal Peace Federation of India, New Delhi, Fulbright Fellowship, (IST),USA in the year 2003-04 and visited a number of countries namely UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka on different academic and professional assignments. While serving Mizoram University, Prof. Rath assumed the charge of many important responsibilities like Head of the Department for three tenures, Chairman-Board of Studies, Dean of School of Economics, Management and Information Science (SEMIS), Chairman -School Board, Member-Academic and Executive Council, Presently Prof. Rath is a Senior Professor (Level-15) and performing as Acting Vice- Chancellor, Mizoram University w.e.f. 16 November 2022 until further order. Dr. Amit Kumar is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Library and Information Science, Mizoram University (A Central University), Aizawl, India. He has obtained PhD from Mizoram University. Prior to join Mizoram University, he obtained MA in Pol. Sc., MLISC and M.Phil from University of Delhi in 2007, 2009 and 2011 respectively. More than 60 publications, in national and international repute journals and conferences with one authored book and 3 edited books into his credit with participation in various professional programmes. He has also delivered presentations on various burning issues of LIS at various platforms. Dr. Kumar is the recipient of Young Professional Award 2017 by Society for Library Professionals, New Delhi; Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing for the year 2019 and 2020 by different journals. Apart from this, Dr. Amit Kumar is an active member of professional association such as SRFLIS and II.A. His areas of interest include ICT application in libraries; Informal Learning; Library Consortia; Marketing of LIS and Metric Studies such as Bibliometrics; Scientometrics: Altmetrics etc. Dr. Manendra Kumar Singh is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science at Mizoram University, Aizawl, Mizoram. He has done his MA in History, MLIS, and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Banaras Hindu University. He qualified for UGC NET in History and NET-JRF in library science subjects He has 4 years of teaching experience in various subjects like Knowledge management, Information Science, Knowledge Organization, and ICT practice, and also 10-month experience as a medical college librarian. He has published research papers in reputed national and international journals and presented papers at conferences. The area of his research is knowledge transfer, Information Science, ICT, and metric study.
