About the Book
The book aims to change the landscape of Pakistani society from its barren absence of women to one where women boldly dot the canvas. This will happen after the conversation changes from an outcry at the horrid state of women to what it is that they can do. For starters they can make some noise. This is revolutionary in a society where women and silence are synonymous. The more woman you are the more silent you are. It is a book that proposes that we recognize that there is a systematic war on women. There is a war on their voices as well as their stories. That there are too many barriers to equity. That there are too many weary arms that cannot hold the burdens of economics, social costs, health issues and the deprivation of education among other things. It is a book that tries to chronicle the fights against the nameless and faceless oppressors and in some instances unclothes them and names them. It serves to tell women of the region how similar our pains are and how interweaved our losses. To tell them that it's time to join hands and work together – fight by fight.
