This work is an attempt to document the dying Nyishi knowledge and bridge the tradition-modernity gap. The young generation of the Nyishis isbeing driven away from tradition by the looming modernity. The work covers various aspects of the indigenous knowledge of the Nyishis– crops, vegetables, animals, insects, flies, fruits, ornaments, crafts, tools and equipment and human anatomy. This book contains eighteenchapters with more than six hundred photographs and diagrams.The work will help the new scholars, and enrich and re-orient the Nyishi language and their value system.
