She was a Research Fellow in Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata, and subsequently a Research Associate (CSIR) at the University of Calcutta. Later she joined teaching in Sree Chaitanya College, Habra, West Bengal. She has twenty years experience of teaching at undergraduate along with a few years in Post-graduate level also. She completed three Minor Research Project (UGC) and one Major Research Project (DST). Dr. Chaudhuri has several research papers in reputed science journals. She authored an Honours level textbook entitled 'Economic Zoology' in 2017.
