A rediscovery of children in Scripture will inevitably lead to more theological reflection on children and childhood... Many who are aware of the significance of children (including myself) are activists. We see their pressing needs and the potential of children and youth, and we urge purpose-driven action on their behalf... If we value activism because it gets things done and devalue theological reflection because it is time-consuming and difficult, neither our practice nor our foundations will be secure.'
