About the Book
The concept ofMiri-Piri, Religion and politics, was introduced by the sixth Nanak, Guru Hargobind son of GuruArjan at the newly erected Akal Takht on 15th June, 1606. The Takht was 12 feet high built with own hands of Baba Budha and Bhai Gurdas on the round about of the premises of Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. The Takht is East facing, rising Sun, symbol of political power. Darbar Sahib symbolises the spritual power on mother Earth. The ceremony was Gurgadi to Hargobind. It was conducted in the presence of the Sikh Sangat by Baba Budha while Bhai Gurdas looked on and supervised. Two swords of Miri-Piri were bestowed on person of Guru Hargobind at his biding! After Shahadat of Guru Arjan his son Guru Hargoind created concept of Miri-Piri and Akal Takht. After Shahadat of Guru Tegh Bahadur his son Guru Gobind Singh created Khalsa and said Raj Karega Khalsa. Sikh Philosopher-Politician Sirdar Kapur Singh (1909-1986) explains the whole concept according to Sikh thought in modem and ancient comparative terms of world religions. He also explains Raj Karega Khalsa litany of Guru Go bind Singh and tells the world as to why the Sikh soul & body are restless and suffering. All his writings are highly intellectual and needs to be understood by all serious student's of Sikh Religion, History and politics, and are placed before them for study and propogation.
