Speaking and Writing Skills of Engineering Students in Southern Odisha: Problems and Challengesis planned to acquaint the engineering students with English as a tool of communication for their successful career. The objective of this book is to find out the difference in Speaking and Writing skills of Engineering students of Engineering colleges of Southern part of Odisha with special reference to their educational backgrounds (Vernacular medium and English medium). The main purpose of the study is to find out the level of competence of Engineering students in productive skills like Speaking and Writing and to suggest means and methods by which the students can procure the productive skills like Speaking and Writing effectively which will help them in their real life as well as in making them industry ready. The study focuses primarily on Speaking and Writing skills of Engineering students. The productive skills like Speaking and Writing play a major role in Engineering students career but it has been observed that most of the Engineering students do not lay emphasis on these skills therefore, that rejects their candidature in the job market. To find out the existing competence of the Engineering students in Speaking and Writing skill different methodologies have been adopted ,data have been collected, and results have been analyzed at the same time suggestion and recommendation have been made to improve the productive skills. This book has been designed to meet the requirements of engineering students to develop productive skills like Speaking and writing in their profession. This book will be helpful to B. Tech, BBA, B. Pharma and MBA students to develop their proficiency in speaking and writing skills in English. This book will also help the research scholars to extend their research in the field of English Language Teaching.
