Library is treasure house of knowledge. Library collects, organizes and disseminate information, knowledge for mankind towards prosperity. The library science as a subject and librarian as a profession is based on a soild philosophical foundation. Information as an integral part of library has its application to society and other disciplines. The first segment of this book Studies on Information Science is devoted to philosophical foundation of library, attitude of primitive tribe Santals' towards information, application of different theories to identify core socio-economic choices and to sketch a bibliometric portrait of genius like Satyajit Ray. The copyright of Rabindranath works (Tagoreana) expired in 2001. The publishing monopoly of Visva-Bharati is no more. Private publishers are now free to publish Tagoreana. The second segment Tagoreana discusses publicatising scenario before and after expiry of copyright and post copyright publication of Tagorean fiction. An analytical study of paintings and drawings of Rabindranath and a bibliometric portrait taking into account all creative output of Rabindranath have also been incorporated.
