Sustainable economic development is the backbone of development of any state. Until and unless the economy of as structure of a state grows sustainably, the goals cannot be achieved. Rajasthan is one of the states of India that is flourishing with the minerals, resources and natural vegetation and its southern region is bestowed with breathtaking natural beauty: the majestic Aravil Rangem serene lakes, exotic wildlife and lush green forest. Southern Rajasthan covers districts of Udaipur, Banswara, Dungerpur, Chittorgarh, Sirohi and Pratapgarh. This southern region has tremendous scope in the arenas of agriculture, industry, power, IT, tourism and education. The southern part of Rajasthan remains one of the favorite travel destinations of both the Indian tourist as well as the foreign tourist. Tourism can be developing in various forms in this region. Glorious temples, stately forts and the grand papacies speak for themselves and tell the glorious tales of history. Govt. of Rajasthan has taken several efforts for the economic development of southern Rajasthan in the areas of agriculture, industry, power, IT, tourism and education. But still after so many years southern Rajasthan is deprived in terms of economic development. Problems of unemployment, poverty, connectivity still persist. Few districts of Southern Rajasthan are ahead of other but tribal district of southern Rajasthan are still deprived from the development. There is ample of opportunities in several areas which can be grabbing and that can give boost up to the economic development and make it sustainable. There is need to work on these issues and so Leo College of Banswara district has organized two days national seminar in collaboration with GGTU, Banswara, on the topic of sustainable economic development in Rajasthan. There were three sub-themes namely, Role of agriculture, Integration of Agro-business with Industry, Forest and Green Economy in Southern Rajasthan, Growth and Prospects of tourism development Policies towards Sustainable Growth, 472 research scholars and faculties from various institutes got registered themselves for this seminar. 83 papers were received for this seminar and 68 were presented their papers. These papers are related with different subjects like GST Input credit in southern Rajasthan, Tourism in southern Rajasthan, CSR in southern Rajasthan, legal awareness in southern Rajasthan, tribal women empowerment in southern Rajasthan, agro-industry in southern Rajasthan, organic farming practices in southern Rajasthan, green marketing in Southern Rajasthan, agriculture in southern Rajasthan, etc. Out of these, selected papers are published in this proceeding. I hope, this proceeding will helpful in developing the framework for the sustainable economic development in Southern Rajasthan and beneficial for research in new directions.
