About the Authors: Prof. (Dr.) M.R. Shylaja did her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Horticulture from Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Thrissur, India . Prof. Shylaja has 34 years of service at KAU. She served in the capacity of Director of Education, KAU & KAU- ICAR Education Nodal Officer. She also headed the Department of Plant Biotechnology (Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Molecular Biology), College of Horticulture, KAU.
Dr. Deepu Mathew is working as Assistant Professor at Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, India. At Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, KAU, he is working in horticultural crop genomics, transcriptomics and bioinformatics.
Prof. (Dr.) K. V. Peter is an alumnus of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. He did postdoctoral research at Vegetable Laboratory, USDA, Beltsville and at AVRDC (World Vegetable Centre), Taiwan. He was Professor of Horticulture at Kerala Agricultural University and served in the capacities of Director, ICAR-IISR, Calicut and Vice-Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University.
