The need for this book arose out of the sheer frustration and a sense of helplessness which is prevailing for a long time in the Indian Higher Education system. The title THE CLASS ACT is well intended in multiple meanings. As CLASS is also a major parameter to understand Indian social dynamics and heavily influencing the Indian Higher Education system, here in this book it carrying a dual inference: • The first one is the Classroom which is again a metaphor or the microcosm for the higher Education Structure-Infrastructure and Para-structure, both at the micro and macro level. • The second oneis ‘CLASS’ which we usually understand in the form of the divisive factor as the political class, economic class, social class and many other parallel narratives.
