George Gispert-Sauch has been engaged in creative theological writing for the last fifty years. The articles included in this book witness to his passion for exploring an Indian Christian theological hermeneutics .... There is something refreshing in his theological methodology. In exploring the theological quarry he has in one hand the Indian Scriptural resources and in the other the Gospel of Jesus. But in his heart he bears the Indian reality symbolized in the “Newspaper.” In his theology there is therefore a creative dialectic between the rich spiritual heritage of India and the liberating message of Jesus, as well as a concern for the harmony and welfare (yoga-kshema) of the people today. This becomes evident in the articles collected in this volume.
