This book is a reinvestigation on the identity of the Matthean community and the purpose of the Gospel of Matthew. The real identity of the Matthean community is peripheral community and the purpose of the Gospel is instructions. The Matthean community is quite parallel to the tribal people. Tribal method of biblical interpretation has been employed here for reading the texts of the Matthean Gospel. The central reason behind employing the tribal method of biblical interpretation is to make them relevant to the socio-religious life of the tribal people.
