This book is about the effect of sea power upon the course of history by one of the greatest author Captain Mahan. As other histories deal with the wars, politics,social and economic conditions,touching upon maritime matters only incidentally, so the present work aims at putting maritime interest in the foreground, seeking to show how they modified the latter and were modified by them. Being a naval officer the author has not hesitated to digress freely on questions of naval policy, strategy and tactics. It is a must-read book for historians and scholars working on maritime studies.
