The book entitled "Urbanisation and Level of Urban Development: Kurseong Municipality" unveils the diverse issues regarding scientific evaluation of level of urban development of Kurseong Town and identification of spatial disparity in terms of demography and social and economic infrastructure, urban land uses and its functions prevalent in the town. The book consists of nine chapters -the initial six chapters focus on the origin and evolution, geographical setting, demographic structure and land use pattern of the town in terms of spatial and temporal perspectives. The latter three chapters deal with the problems, development plans and possible mitigation measures with a holistic approach that can be taken into consideration for the future growth and sustainable development of the town. The book will definitely be beneficial to the researchers of social science in general and geography in particular and the policy makers and stakeholders and will stimulate and encourage the future investigators to take up research work at micro level.
