The Ship of Life sails from Port to port... the journey adds passengers, stories and experiences unique to each individual. It is the first volume that chronicles the anecdotes shared between three generations of the author's family. The anecdotes make leaders and historical people human instead of distant cardboard figures that led the nation. Each of the anecdotes is contextualised in the historical background of the times, in order to better explain and understand the yester-years. The book is divided into two sections, these sections are based on the broad contours of socio-political heritage, as a form of living memory. The first section of the book, are stories about Maharajas from India, stories span from 'The Kashmir story' to “The Vicereine's Ring”, that also provide a window into British lifestyle in India. The second section of the book is about Presidents, Prime Ministers and visiting dignitaries 'The Russian Encounter', draw the attention of the reader.
